Prof. Dr. Manopchai Thamkhantho, a board member of the Royal Thai College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and PPAT council’s consultant, disseminated knowledge on SRHR and self-care to more than 450 farmers at Nong Luang Temple, Nong Luang Subdistrict, Lan Krabue District, Kamphaeng Pet Province, on 1 December 2022, under the project “Growth: Grow Together Healthier”, with the cooperation of Planned Parenthood Association of Thailand and Bayer Thai Co. Ltd.,.

Mr. Somjet Srikanok, PPAT Executive Director, welcomed representatives from IPPF and SIDA to visit PPAT HIV/AIDS project implementation in educational institute at Sripatum University. Ms. Vikanda Chiemsuk, Director of Center for Psychological Wellness of the University, aliased Khun Worachote Lamudthong, Programme Manager, and Khun Pattaya Buranaprapa, Programme Manager and team to demonstrate and summarize the project.

In addition, the representatives also visited Bangkok clinic and Bann Hormlamduan implementation as well.

Discussion with 3 Agencies to Propel National Family Planning Policy

On 16 November 2022, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Luedech Girdwichai, PPAT President, with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Manopchao Thamkhantho, PPAT council’s consultant, Mr. Supavit Dittayanurak, council member and Mr. Panatphong Noradee, Manager of Information Education and Motivation, attended International Conference on Family Planning (ICFP) 2022’s side meeting with 2 partner organizations, which are Bureau of Reproductive Health and Bayer Thai Co., Ltd. to discuss the guidance to propel Thai family planning (Family Planning 2030: FP2030) as well as the partnership between Sexual and Reproductive Health agencies from private sector, public sector and CSO.

We are honored to have Director of the Bureau of Reproductive Health, Health Department, Ministry of Public Health, Dr. Boonyarit Sukrat, Managing Director of Bayer Thai Co., Ltd., Ms. JinA Lee, Global Head of Market Access, Public Affairs and Sustainability, Pharmaceuticals Division, Dr. Claus Runge and Head of Sustainability Pharmaceuticals Division in the roundtable discussion.

GROWTH Project Experience Sharing in the International Conference on Family Planning 2022

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Manopchai Thamkhantho, a board member of the Royal Thai College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the Planned Parenthood Association of Thailand (PPAT) council’s consultant, was invited to exchange information on Public Sectors’ Roles in Knowledge Dissemination to Grassroots and Community Engagement under the project “GROWTH: Grow Together Healthier”, cooperated by PPAT and Bayer Thai Co., Ltd. at the International Conference on Family Planning 2022 on 15 November 2022.

International Conference on Family Planning 2022 is organized on 14 – 17 November 2022 at Pattaya Exhibition and Convention Hall (PEACH), Pattaya, Chonburi. There are more than 140 non-governmental organizations from all over the world come to attend the conference.

On 11 November 2022, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Shayaniss Kono, PPAT Secretary-General, welcomed Profamilia, IPPF’s Member Association and PPAT telemedicine project’s funder, on their visit. Profamilia team, led by Khun Marta Royo, Executive Director, Khun Carlos Gómez, Programme Director and Khun Lina Cataño, Social Work Manager, visited PPAT to exchange and share experience on telemedicine development to increase SRHR service accessibility for women who live remotely or unable to access SRHR.

Planned Parenthood Association of Thailand conducted lesson learnt meeting of “Stop Sexual Harassment in Educational Institution” project on 31 October 2022. The meeting was instructed by Dr. Nanthakan Sungsuman Woodham and the attendees included with Ms. Dadchaneeya Ruttanasiri, youth council member, Ms. Ladda Jutwatanapataya, Programme Manager, project’s activists and Mr. Thanyaphot Saithongin, Panyapiwat Institute of Management’s Activity Advisor to exchange and share ideas regarding project implementation at PPAT’s meeting room.
