On July 22nd, the Planned Parenthood Association of Thailand (PPAT) held the National Coordination Meeting on Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR) at the TK Palace Hotel and Convention meeting room. Khun Papavee Chairak, Senior Professional Public Health Officer, Department of Health, Ministry of Public Health (MOPH), honored the event by presiding over the opening ceremony.
Attendees included Mrs. Rungrasami Sriwongphan, Association Board Member; Dr. Nanthakan Sungsuman Woodham, Executive Director, along with executives and staff; Dr. Rose McGready from the Shoklo Malaria Research Unit (SMRU); Asst. Prof. Dr. Phitsanuruk Kanthawee from the School of Health Science, Mae Fah Luang University; and numerous partner organizations.
This meeting marks a crucial step in strengthening cooperation among various agencies and organizations to elevate national operations in sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). The focus is on providing assistance to all population groups, including Thai citizens, ethnic groups, migrant workers, and displaced persons from conflict. The participants discussed guidelines and operational approaches for caring for and supporting these target groups to ensure they can effectively access essential reproductive health services.
