“Towards Inclusive Care” Elevating Health Services for the LGBTQIA+ Community

Earlier this morning (August 5), Assoc. Prof., Naval Lt. Manopchai Thamkhantho, the President of the Association, presided over the opening of the workshop “Towards Inclusive Care: Strengthening health services for LGBTQIA+.” The meeting was organized by the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) and the Family Planning Association of India (FPA India) and is being held at the Amari Hotel Bangkok from August 5–7, 2025. The objective of this conference is to monitor and evaluate the progress of the project and to jointly discuss methods for improving the work plan among partner organizations to enhance the effectiveness of services for the LGBTQIA+ community.

As a member organization, the Planned Parenthood Association of Thailand (PPAT) is participating in this conference. The delegation is led by Dr. Nanthakan Sungsuman Woodham, Executive Director, along with two other project management officers. Partner organizations and members from various countries are also attending this meeting.

On August 27, the Planned Parenthood Association of Thailand (PPAT), through its Pattani Provincial Office, delivered medical supplies and antifungal medication to Pattani Provincial Prison to support the healthcare of the inmates. On March 18, Dr. Nanthakan Sungsuman Woodham, Executive Director of the Association, Khun Serene Ramnee, Project Manager of PPAT, and PPAT staff warmly welcomed and presented the work of PPAT to the study visit delegation from the University of Tokyo, Japan. They also exchanged ideas on collaborative working approaches. Associate Professor Dr. Nattha Thanepanichsakul from the College of Public Health Sciences, Chulalongkorn University, joined in the exchange during this occasion….
