PPAT Joins Meeting to Discuss Guidelines for Assisting Displaced Persons from Conflict in Myanmar

Between September 17–19, Dr. Nanthakan Sungsuman Woodham, Director of the Planned Parenthood Association of Thailand (PPAT), and Miss Nuchanat Raruen, Project Manager, participated in an annual seminar for government officials, Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) staff, and International Organization (IO) staff working on the care of displaced persons from conflict in Myanmar for the 2025 fiscal year. The meeting was held at the Prince Palace Hotel, Bangkok, to discuss and plan humanitarian work. Key topics covered included: Government policy toward the displaced persons. Thai foreign policy with Myanmar. The operations of International Organizations and NGOs regarding the migration of displaced persons, along with humanitarian aid reports.Discussions were also held to find solutions to problems, obstacles, and recommendations for future collaborative operational planning.

This meeting was an important platform for exchanging information and coordinating among relevant agencies to ensure effective assistance for the displaced persons amidst a changing global situation. PPAT has been operating in the area for a long time and is one of only two Thai NGOs working on the quality of life for displaced persons in the region. PPAT is committed to using its experience and expertise to drive this mission with maximum efficiency, based on the principles of human rights and reproductive health rights, without discrimination based on nationality.

On 29 January, Dr. Nanthakan Sungsuman Woodham, Executive Director, together with Ms. Ladda Jitwatanapataya, Advisor to the Executive Director, and Miss Saneekan Rosamontri, Research and Project Development Manager, held a meeting with Mr. Kittinan Thammatat of the Rainbow Sky Association of Thailand and its executive team. The discussion focused on collaboration to promote HIV prevention through biomedical methods. The meeting took place at the headquarters of the Rainbow Sky Association on Ramkhamhaeng Road, Bangkok….
