On July 1-2, a team of instructors from PPAT organized a reproductive health education camp for visually impaired youth under a project to develop an inclusive sex education curriculum for youth with visual impairments. This initiative is carried out by the Rajsuda Institute, Faculty of Medicine, Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University. The content focused on reproductive health, preventing unintended pregnancies, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), as well as sexual rights and reproductive health rights. Participants engaged in interactive learning activities such as: The “Condom Saves Lives” activity, where participants learned the correct way to put on and remove condoms. The “Verbal Consent” activity, which focused on understanding sexual consent and skills for refusal and negotiation.
- The “Understanding Them, Understanding Us” activity, which taught SOGIESC principles—understanding gender identity, gender expression, and the gender individuals want others to acknowledge.
This educational experience was engaging and provided the participants with valuable knowledge, empowering them to protect their health and well-being.
