On August 4, the Planned Parenthood Association of Thailand (PPAT) moved forward with an educational activity for youth as part of the “PPAT Moon Blood Festival” project at Petchkasem Management Technology College. The goal was to promote accurate understanding of reproductive health and the prevention of unplanned pregnancy, with enthusiastic participation from the students. The objective of this event was to raise awareness and provide essential information related to reproductive health and unplanned pregnancy prevention, covering topics such as: effective contraception, Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs), sexual orientation, gender identity, and reducing bias. The team, led by Miss Serene Ramnee, the project manager, and her colleagues, prepared easy-to-understand content along with activities and games designed to encourage youth participation and open expression of ideas. This morning (July 16th), Dr. Nanthakan Sungsuman Woodham, Executive Director of PPAT, presided over the opening of the Quality of Care (QOC) Annual Workshop for 2025.The workshop aims to improve the service quality of PPAT Medical Clinics and encourage staff from all departments to enhance their job-related knowledge. It also focuses on reviewing and updating knowledge on reproductive health issues for greater efficiency, especially regarding PrEP (Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis) and PEP (Post-Exposure Prophylxis) services. The training featured presentations by Khun Kunawut Jiewpanya, Manager of the Rainbow Sky Association of Nakhon Sawan, and Khun Kulphassorn Kladngam from Raks Thai Foundation, and their teams. The participants also had a site visit to study the operations of the Medical Technologist Clinic at Sisters Foundation, Rayong Center. Last night (July 15th), the project working team of the Planned Parenthood Association of Thailand (PPAT) deployed a mobile unit to provide free mobile health check-ups, including voluntary screening for HIV infection and other sexually transmitted infections (STIs), to service workers in entertainment establishments in Mueang District, Pathum Thani Province. This activity was conducted under the project “Promoting HIV Infection Prevention among Female Service Workers and Men who have Sex with Men,” which receives funding support from the National Health Security Office (NHSO) Region 4 Saraburi….
On 21 February, PPAT, led by Project Managers Khun Pattaya Buranaprapa and Khun Worachote Lamudthong, along with their team, organized a communication capacity-building activity for project advisors and youth leaders. The training aimed to develop student leaders as HIV prevention peer educators in educational institutions and to equip them with skills to communicate about HIV/AIDS and sexually transmitted infections (STIs). This activity was part of Phase III of the HIV Prevention Project for Youth in Educational Institutions and was held at the 6th floor meeting room of the Somdej Uppatham Building, PPAT Headquarters, Vibhavadi Rangsit Soi 44, Bangkok. Participants learned proper STDs prevention methods, especially the correct use of condoms. Mr. Somjet Srikanok, Exectutive Director, has chaired the training of ‘Online Program Training for Sexual and Reproductive Health Communication’, instructed by HealthNet, on 28-29 December 2021, for PPAT staff to apply the gained skills inwards their implementation. PPAT staff from all over the country have entertainingly gained a lot of knowledge from the training….
