On September 2, the Planned Parenthood Association of Thailand (PPAT) held the exhibition “Moon Blood Festival 2025: diversity of menstruation” under the concept of “Deconstructing old beliefs about menstruation” at the 1st floor hall of the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC). The objective was to foster a broader understanding of menstruation across diverse dimensions and to provide a platform for youth and LGBTQIA+ artists to share their stories through art. Asst. Prof. Dr.Somjaree Preeyanont, the Secretary-General of the Association, presided over the opening and viewed the exhibition. The activities included an exhibition of artworks presenting the issue of “monthly blood” from the perspectives of youth and LGBTQIA+ artists ready to amplify their own voices. There was also a panel discussion on the topic “Whose Menstruation Is It?” The speakers included: Khun Atitaya Asa, Manager of TransEqual, Khun Patsarin Ramwong, Member of Parliament for Bangkok’s District 7, Move Forward Party, Khun Jan Urupongsa, Barefoot Banana Publishing, Khun Tarisa Pongsatean, Owner of the Joy menstrual cup brand.

One of the highlights of the event was the Shibari rope art performance—the art of body suspension to embrace pain and understand reality, serving as a form of emotional therapy—by artists yada.kinbaku (Khun Yada) and Khun Zeen Thiphrachan, who are artists in the Moon Blood Festival project.

The “Moon Blood Festival 2025” exhibition emphasizes breaking down the traditional framework that limits menstruation solely to women’s issues, inviting viewers to explore and understand the narratives of “monthly blood” in increasingly diverse dimensions. The exhibition is open to the public from September 2–7, 2025, at the 1st floor hall of the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre.
