Between August 30 and 31, Khun Pattaya Buranaprapa, Project Manager, along with Dr. Ai-yakarn Ai-yakarn, Manager of the PPAT Hat Yai Medical Clinic, led a team of PPAT speakers and volunteers in organizing a youth capacity-building workshop camp. The event, which focused on Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) for youth with hearing disabilities, was held at The Palazzo Hotel Bangkok, in collaboration with the Thai Deaf Youth Club. Ms. Haruthai Sirisinudomkit, Director of the Public Sector Management Development Group, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, presided over the opening ceremony.

The educational activities focused on key topics related to Reproductive Health, unplanned pregnancy, Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs), and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR). Learning was conducted through participatory activities, including: the “Tree of Hope” activity to foster the exchange of knowledge and shared experiences, training on skills for condom use and contraception, and the “Ask the Doctor” session, which provided youth with an opportunity to ask questions directly to an expert physician.

The participants gained both knowledge and enjoyment from the various activities. This will help build the necessary understanding and skills for self-care, as well as enable them to make informed decisions in life, which will be a fundamental basis for improving their quality of life in the future.
