PPAT Pattani Joins Forces with UNFPA to Empower Women and Young People in the Southern Border Provinces

On September 29, the Planned Parenthood Association of Thailand (PPAT), Pattani Provincial Office, continued its work to advance gender equality and human rights by organizing a key activity to develop capacity in reproductive health and raise awareness about rights. The event was held at the Pikulthong Meeting Room of the Imperial Hotel in Narathiwat Province (2nd session), under the project “Empowering Women and Young Women to Advance Gender Equality in the Southern Region.” This project is supported by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA THAILAND). Khun Saitong Doloh, PPAT Project Manager, led the team conducting the training, which saw a total of 40 participants. The core focus of the training was on creating a more equal and safe environment in the Southern Border Provinces by empowering participants and building a deep understanding of sensitive social issues in the three Southern border provinces: Reproductive health. Rights and choices for women and young women. Sexual diversity (LGBTQI+), promoting understanding and acceptance of different gender identities.Ending gender-based violence (GBV), including providing knowledge on preventing and responding to all forms of violence. This initiative aims to drive the three Southern border provinces toward a society that is safe, equal, and just for everyone.
