Khon Kaen PPAT Medical Clinic participates in VCT Day Activities

On July 1st, Ms. Warunee Tungsiri, Deputy Director of the PPAT Northeastern Regional Office and Manager of the PPAT Medical Clinic, Khon Kaen, led the project team together with various partner organizations. These included the Office of Disease Prevention and Control 7 Khon Kaen, the Khon Kaen Provincial Public Health Office, Chataphadung Medical Center, Health Promotion Center 7 Khon Kaen, Srinagarind Hospital, Khon Kaen Municipality, Khon Kaen Municipality Children and Youth Council, Thai Athorn Foundation Khon Kaen, and the ACTTEAM Group Khon Kaen. The VCT Day (Voluntary Counseling and Testing Day) was organized to raise awareness among the general public about the importance of understanding the HIV situation—both their own and that of those close to them—as well as to promote the various benefits of receiving HIV counseling and voluntary testing. Join the parade to promote equality and self-pride

In the afternoon of 29 June, Dr. Nanthakan Sungsuman Woodham, Executive Director of PPAT, led the executive team and staff to join the Thailand Pride @Bangkapi parade to celebrate sexual diversity and advocate for progressive change on all levels. The aim was to build understanding and equality in Thai society—promoting human rights, raising awareness about gender, fostering self-pride, and creating safe and inclusive spaces for everyone. Starting from the National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA), the parade proceeded to The Mall Lifestore Bangkapi. Youth leader training on STIs prevention

On the morning of 28 June, the Planned Parenthood Association of Thailand, led by Khun Worachote Lamudthong, Project Manager, held a practical training session to empower girl youth leaders and teacher advisors with knowledge and understanding on preventing and referring services for young people in schools under the Girls Act project. Training on anti-corruption and financial management

On 24 June, Dr. Nanthakan Sungsuman Woodham, Executive Director of PPAT, presided over the opening of a training session on anti-corruption and financial management. This training, a collaboration between PPAT and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA Thailand), was held to ensure transparency, good governance, and accountability in operations. Campaign to promote gender equality and eliminate discrimination

On 23 June, Ms. Warunee Tungsiri, Deputy Director of PPAT Northeastern Office, led staff from the PPAT Khon Kaen Medical Clinic, together with local networks, to join the Isaan Pride Festival 2024. PPAT Executive Board recording a blessing message for King Rama X

On 21 June, Asst. Prof. Dr. Sukanya Sripho, Secretary-General of PPAT, together with Miss Dadchaneeya Ruttanasiri, Registrar of PPAT, Asst. Field visit to Omkoi for maternal and child health care

On 18 June, a team of maternal and child health specialists from the Planned Parenthood Association of Thailand and staff from PPAT Northern Office, Chiang Mai Province, conducted a rainy-season home visit to young mothers facing anemia during pregnancy and postpartum. Joining the network to promote equality – Thailand Pride @Bangkapi

On 29 May, Dr. Nanthakan Sungsuman Woodham, Executive Director of PPAT, together with Ms. Ladda Jitwatanapataya, Advisor to the PPAT Director, joined the press conference for Thailand Pride @Bangkapi. This event was held to mark the occasion of Pride Month in June, an annual celebration of the rights, dignity, and equality of the LGBTIQN+ community. The event was organized by Thailand Pride and represented a collaborative effort of communities, civil society, the private sector, public sector, and international organizations to promote and advance gender justice across social, economic, cultural, legal, and welfare dimensions. The event took place at MCC Hall, The Mall Lifestore Bangkapi. MSDHS and PPAT joining forces to promote family planning and population development across all age groups

On 27 May, the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security (MSDHS) and the Planned Parenthood Association of Thailand under the patronage of Her Royal Highness the Princess Mother (PPAT) co-organized an academic seminar titled “Family Planning and the Development of Quality of Life Across All Age Groups,” to raise awareness among people of all ages about the importance of family planning, aiming toward achieving quality families and promoting quality births. Mr. Varawut Silpa-archa, Minister of Social Development and Human Security, presided over the opening ceremony and presented honorary plaques to outstanding contributors and volunteers for the year 2023.
