On 21 February, PPAT, led by Project Managers Khun Pattaya Buranaprapa and Khun Worachote Lamudthong, along with their team, organized a communication capacity-building activity for project advisors and youth leaders. The training aimed to develop student leaders as HIV prevention peer educators in educational institutions and to equip them with skills to communicate about HIV/AIDS and sexually transmitted infections (STIs). This activity was part of Phase III of the HIV Prevention Project for Youth in Educational Institutions and was held at the 6th floor meeting room of the Somdej Uppatham Building, PPAT Headquarters, Vibhavadi Rangsit Soi 44, Bangkok. Participants learned proper STDs prevention methods, especially the correct use of condoms. On the morning of 20 February, Asst. Prof. Dr. Sukanya Sripho, Secretary General, presided over the opening of the 2024 Quality of Care (QOC) standards training held at Krungsri River Hotel in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province. The training aimed to enhance the quality of services provided by PPAT medical clinics and to support all staff in strengthening their work-related knowledge. The program also offered updates and reviews of current knowledge in the field of reproductive health to improve service delivery. The training was attended by Dr. Panpimol Wipulakorn, PPAT Executive Committee Member, staff from all 9 PPAT medical clinics, telemedicine doctors, staff from Baan Hormlamduan Elderly Care Center, and other relevant personnel. On 16 February, Khun Pattaya Buranaprapa and Khun Worachote Lamudthong, Project Managers at PPAT, led a planning and orientation meeting under the HIV prevention promotion project for youth in educational institutions in Pathum Thani province. Held at Cinnamon Residence Hotel, Bangkok. The objective was to present operational guidelines and jointly develop action plans for eight target institutions. Participants included project advisors and relevant stakeholders, comprising: 1.Representative from the Pathum Thani Provincial Public Health Office 2.Project advisors from five higher education institutions, namely: Bangkok University, Rangsit University, Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi, Valaya Alongkorn Rajabhat University under the Royal Patronage, North Bangkok University. On 17 February, Dr. Nanthakan Sungsuman Woodham, Executive Director of PPAT, along with staff from the Northern Regional Office, participated in the Youth Festival at Tha Pae Gate, Chiang Mai. The event, organized by the Raks Thai Foundation, welcomed participation from youth, including vulnerable populations, ethnic minorities, and LGBTQIA+ groups. The festival aimed to create a creative and inclusive space for young people to express themselves and to raise awareness on STI prevention and unplanned pregnancy among adolescents. It also promoted access to friendly information and services. On 14 February, the PPAT Khon Kaen Clinic, in collaboration with Khon Kaen Hospital, the Khon Kaen Provincial Public Health Office, and the Office of Public Health and Environment of Khon Kaen Municipality, organized a Valentine’s Day campaign under the theme “Seal it with Love (and a Condom).” The event aimed to educate students on proper condom use and to raise awareness on unplanned pregnancy prevention. On 13 February, a team of facilitators from PPAT, led by Project Manager Mr. Worachote Lamudthong, conducted a hands-on reproductive health education workshop under a project focused on HIV/STIs prevention and teenage pregnancy prevention. The workshop provided reproductive health knowledge, pregnancy prevention methods, STIs prevention, as well as sexual and reproductive rights to both youth and older adults in Samut Prakan province. The interactive activities included demonstrations on correct condom use and methods to prevent HIV/STIs, offering both knowledge and enjoyment to participants and equipping them with essential self-protection skills. On 29 January, Dr. Nanthakan Sungsuman Woodham, Executive Director, together with Ms. Ladda Jitwatanapataya, Advisor to the Executive Director, and Miss Saneekan Rosamontri, Research and Project Development Manager, held a meeting with Mr. Kittinan Thammatat of the Rainbow Sky Association of Thailand and its executive team. In the past morning (25 January), Khun Worachote Lamudthong, Project Manager, led the PPAT speaker team to organize a workshop to build capacity in reproductive health knowledge for students of the Food Passion Learning Center, Vocational Certificate Year 1 level, under the project for prevention of teenage pregnancy and basic first aid training, at the meeting room of the Food Passion Learning Center, Bangkok. This knowledge-sharing activity focused on topics of reproductive health, unplanned pregnancy, HIV/sexually transmitted infections, as well as sexual and reproductive rights, through participatory learning activities such as correct condom use demonstration, and HIV/STIs prevention methods. During 15–18 January, Dr. Nanthakan Sungsuman Woodham, Executive Director of PPAT , along with PPAT Senior staff, had a discussion and exchange with Mr. Rishikeshan Thiyagaraja, Assistant Director, and Mr. Manjula Chathuranga Liyanage, Technical Advisor, representatives from IPPF Social Enterprise Hub, to jointly discuss development approaches for operating Baan Hormlamduan Elderly Care Center to succeed, and also transferred knowledge about social enterprise operations, focusing on marketing work, which will benefit PPAT operations in the future….
