During December 7–8, the Planned Parenthood Association of Thailand (PPAT) Pattani Provincial Office distributed hygiene kits for women and girls, along with essential household items, to flood-affected communities in Pattani, Yala, and Narathiwat provinces. These areas had been experiencing severe and prolonged flooding. PPAT believes that everyone deserves equal care and support, no matter what situation they are facing. On November 26th, the PPAT Mae Sot project team in Tak Province participated in a career promotion exhibition organized by the Cotton On Foundation. The event aimed to provide students—many of whom are displaced persons affected by armed conflict—with the opportunity to explore potential career paths, ultimately contributing to the improvement of their future quality of life. The event was held at the Chalermphrakiat Building, Kamphaeng Phet Rajabhat University, Mae Sot District, Tak Province. PPAT’s exhibition booth focused on providing education on reproductive health, including prevention of unplanned pregnancy and prevention of sexually transmitted infections (STIs). On November 24th, Asst. Prof. Dr. Sukanya Sripho, Secretary-General of the Planned Parenthood Association of Thailand (PPAT), together with Ms. Uthaiwan Kengthindong, Manager of PPAT Medical Clinic Pinklao, represented the Association at the “Bangkok Abortion 2024” social advocacy event held in recognition of International Safe Abortion Day (September 28 annually). The event aimed to raise public awareness about the importance of ensuring access to safe, standardized, and accessible abortion services. It was organized by the Tamtang Group in collaboration with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) and partner organizations at the Rattanakosin Conference Room, Bangkok City Hall. On this occasion, the Secretary-General of PPAT also delivered a keynote speech on the topic of safe abortion. From November 18–21, the Planned Parenthood Association of Thailand (PPAT) organized a practical training workshop on emergency preparedness planning. The event was officially opened and welcomed by Dr. Nanthakan Sungsuman Woodham, Director of PPAT, and featured speakers from the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF), ACRO Humanitarian Technical Advisor, and Ms. Diana C. Pulido Martínez, Global Technical Lead for Humanitarian Programs. The training was attended by PPAT executives and staff from all departments. From November 15–17, the Planned Parenthood Association of Thailand (PPAT) organized its 2024 Annual Board Members and Staff Seminar. The primary objective of the seminar was to enhance the capacity of PPAT staff to work more effectively and solidarity. The event took place at Pailin A Conference Room, Felix River Kwai Resort, Mueang District, Kanchanaburi Province. The seminar was officially opened by Asst. Prof. Dr. Sukanya Sripho, Secretary-General of the Association, and was attended by members of the 17th PPAT Board, including Ms. Dadchaneeya Ruttanasiri, Registrar of the Association; Ms. Penpan Chittasenee, Treasurer; and Miss Sirichandra Balakanich. Executives and staff from all PPAT departments participated actively. The program included a full-day training session on positive communication techniques and team empowerment, delivered by speakers from the Association of Organizational Wellness Practitioners. On November 7th, the Planned Parenthood Association of Thailand (Chiang Rai PPAT Medical Clinic), together with the Mobile Medical Unit of the Princess Mother’s Medical Volunteer Foundation Chiang Rai Province, provided education on sexual and reproductive health to families affected by flooding and landslides. The activity took place at Chao Pho Luang Uppatham Border Patrol Police School, Ban Hua Mae Kham, Mae Salong Nai Subdistrict, Mae Fa Luang District, Chiang Rai Province. Hygiene kits were also distributed to 30 families affected by landslides and to vulnerable groups.
