On September 2, the Planned Parenthood Association of Thailand (PPAT) held the exhibition “Moon Blood Festival 2025: diversity of menstruation” under the concept of “Deconstructing old beliefs about menstruation” at the 1st floor hall of the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC). The objective was to foster a broader understanding of menstruation across diverse dimensions and to provide a platform for youth and LGBTQIA+ artists to share their stories through art. Asst. Prof. Dr.Somjaree Preeyanont, the Secretary-General of the Association, presided over the opening and viewed the exhibition. The activities included an exhibition of artworks presenting the issue of “monthly blood” from the perspectives of youth and LGBTQIA+ artists ready to amplify their own voices. Between August 30 and 31, Khun Pattaya Buranaprapa, Project Manager, along with Dr. Ai-yakarn Ai-yakarn, Manager of the PPAT Hat Yai Medical Clinic, led a team of PPAT speakers and volunteers in organizing a youth capacity-building workshop camp. The event, which focused on Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) for youth with hearing disabilities, was held at The Palazzo Hotel Bangkok, in collaboration with the Thai Deaf Youth Club. Ms. Haruthai Sirisinudomkit, Director of the Public Sector Management Development Group, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, presided over the opening ceremony. This afternoon (August 7), the Planned Parenthood Association of Thailand (PPAT) welcomed the participants of the workshop “Towards Inclusive Care: Strengthening health services for LGBTQIA+,” which was organized by the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) and the Family Planning Association of India (FPA India). On this occasion, Asst. Prof. Dr.Somjaree Preeyanont, the Secretary-General of the Association, along with Mrs.Duangkamol Ponchamin, the Registrar, and the PPAT management team, extended a warm welcome. They also gave a presentation on the association’s operations and its role in promoting comprehensive reproductive health for all. The participants visited the operations of the PPAT Bang Khen Medical Clinic, which provides reproductive health services. They also visited the Baan Horm Lamduan Elderly Care Home to study integrated elderly care approaches, and observed the work of the PPAT staff. Earlier this morning (August 5), Assoc. Prof., Naval Lt. Manopchai Thamkhantho, the President of the Association, presided over the opening of the workshop “Towards Inclusive Care: Strengthening health services for LGBTQIA+.” The meeting was organized by the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) and the Family Planning Association of India (FPA India) and is being held at the Amari Hotel Bangkok from August 5–7, 2025. The objective of this conference is to monitor and evaluate the progress of the project and to jointly discuss methods for improving the work plan among partner organizations to enhance the effectiveness of services for the LGBTQIA+ community. On August 4, the Planned Parenthood Association of Thailand (PPAT) moved forward with an educational activity for youth as part of the “PPAT Moon Blood Festival” project at Petchkasem Management Technology College. The goal was to promote accurate understanding of reproductive health and the prevention of unplanned pregnancy, with enthusiastic participation from the students. The objective of this event was to raise awareness and provide essential information related to reproductive health and unplanned pregnancy prevention, covering topics such as: effective contraception, Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs), sexual orientation, gender identity, and reducing bias. This morning (July 29th), the Planned Parenthood Association of Thailand (PPAT) continued its activities under the “PPAT Moon Blood Festival” project. Most recently, it organized an in-depth training session for youth at the Rattanakosin Technology College. The session provided knowledge on sexual diversity, gender identity, sexual orientation, sexual relationships, and expression. The activity focused on creating accurate and open understanding of sexual diversity issues, combining educational lectures with engaging activities and games to promote youth participation. Last evening (July 23rd), the PPAT Khon Kaen Medical Clinic, in collaboration with Khon Kaen Hospital and volunteers, conducted proactive outreach. They deployed a mobile unit to provide education on Sexually Transmitted Infection (STIs) prevention and offered voluntary HIV testing in service establishments in Mueang District, Khon Kaen Province. This activity is part of the Project to Promote HIV Infection Prevention among Female Service Workers, which receives funding support from the National Health Security Office (NHSO) Region 7.
