During March 26–27, Miss Dadchaneeya Ruttanasiri, Registrar and Youth Committee member of the association, together with public health officers from the Adolescent Clinic of Chiang Dao District, Chiang Mai Province, and staff from PPAT Northern Office in Chiang Mai Province, organized and served as trainers in a youth leader camp. The camp was part of a project to increase access to knowledge and services on reproductive health and HIV prevention in schools and communities in the northern region. The activity aimed to provide youth leaders an opportunity to exchange experiences in advocacy work at their schools, while also training leadership skills, building confidence in communication, promoting participation with target groups, and developing effective learning processes. This morning (March 20), Ms. Nuchanat Raruen, Project Manager for Capacity Development in Sexual and Reproductive Health in Emergency Situations (SPRINT 2), represented the Family Planning Association of Thailand to receive a certificate of appreciation from the Karen Refugee Committee (KRC). This recognition was given in honor of the Association’s long-term collaboration in improving the quality of life for conflict-affected refugees in Tak Province. On March 15, Asst. Prof. Dr. Sukanya Sripho, Secretary General of the Association, together with Miss Dadchaneeya Ruttanasiri, Registrar and PPAT Youth Committee Member, Dr. Nanthakan Sungsuman Woodham, Executive Director, and the PPAT Executive Team, attended the session to receive the results of the In-Country Accreditation Review (ICAR). The review was conducted by representatives from the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) from March 10 to 15, 2025, at the PPAT Headquarters on Vibhavadi Rangsit Soi 44, Bangkok. The unofficial results were highly satisfactory, with the Association passing all assessment criteria. Notable strengths included the organization’s up-to-date policy framework, robust financial systems, effective modernization of Baan Hormlamduan Elderly Care Home, a transparent and structured process for selecting the Association’s Board Members, systematic monitoring and evaluation practices, equitable and standardized services at PPAT medical clinics, and an efficient organizational resource management system. On February 27, Khun Pattaya Buranaprapa, Project Manager, along with the project team, organized a meeting to explain the implementation guidelines for the project promoting HIV prevention among youth in educational institutions. The meeting focused on outlining the project’s operational framework, emphasizing activities aimed at increasing youth knowledge about HIV/AIDS and sexually transmitted infections, promoting awareness of responsible and safe sexual behavior, and conducting risk and vulnerability screenings among youth through the online “Guan Teen” program. The planning of project implementation was carried out in collaboration with representatives from the Bureau of Communicable Diseases, Department of Health, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, project advisors from partner schools—including Kehathung Song Hong Wittaya School, Seekan (Wattananan Uppatham) School, Rajavinit Bangkhen School—and project volunteers. On February 23, Khun Nuttakan Yimrit, Deputy Executive Director of the Association, together with Khun Worachote Lamudthong, Project Manager, Khun Pattaya Buranaprapa, PPAT staff, and interns from Kasetsart University (Bangkhen Campus), visited the area to organize a training activity for volunteer leaders. The goal was to promote knowledge for healthy aging and to visit elderly residents living in the Borfarang Rimnam Community, Chatuchak District, Bangkok. On February 5th, Khun Pattaya Buranaprapa, Project Manager, and a team of speakers from the Planned Parenthood Association of Thailand (PPAT) organized a workshop to enhance communication skills for project advisors and youth leaders to serve as AIDS peer leaders within educational institutions. This activity was conducted under the project: “Promoting HIV Infection Prevention among Youth in Educational Institutions in Pathum Thani Province.” The education emphasized participatory learning and included presentation topics such as: The situation of HIV/AIDS and Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs). Assessing risky behaviors that may lead to STIs. Understanding methods of self-protection. Practical activities to practice effective communication skills and basic counseling. On January 21, Khun Kornrawee Sanduang, Manager of the PPAT Chiang Rai Medical Clinic, represented the Planned Parenthood Association of Thailand (PPAT) at a meeting to follow up on the operations of the Safe Abortion Services Network in Chiang Rai Province. The meeting was organized by the Bureau of Reproductive Health, Department of Health, Ministry of Public Health, to monitor the operations of service units providing abortion services in Chiang Rai Province to ensure they are conducted in accordance with the established guidelines, and to allow practitioners to exchange experiences, including challenges and obstacles in their work.
