On October 9, the project team from the Chiang Rai PPAT Medical Clinic, led by Khun Kornrawee Sanduang, Project Manager, along with Khun Pongsakorn Saokhiao, Project Officer, and their team, conducted home visits to residents affected by a landslide in Ban Pa Yang, Mae Fa Luang Subdistrict, Mae Fa Luang District, Chiang Rai Province. The visit aimed to offer emotional support and provide initial relief supplies to those impacted. On the morning of September 23, the Planned Parenthood Association of Thailand (PPAT) participated in a knowledge exchange forum with the Parliamentary Committee on Children, Youth, Women, the Elderly, Persons with Disabilities, Ethnic Groups, and Gender Diversity of the House of Representatives. The event was a seminar titled “Reproductive Hygiene: Awareness for Every Life Stage”. Khun Serene Ramnee, Project Manager of PPAT, joined the panel discussion on the topic “Adolescent Reproductive Health and Policies on Sexual Harassment, Menstruation, and Sanitary Products.” The seminar aimed to educate adolescents, working-age adults, and the elderly on reproductive hygiene and its practical application in daily life. It also sought to build adolescents’ resilience against sexual harassment and to promote inclusive participation in shaping reproductive health policies and legislation across different age groups. On August 28, a team of instructors from the Planned Parenthood Association of Thailand (PPAT), led by Khun Worachote Lamudthong, Project Manager, visited the area to conduct a participatory training workshop to provide knowledge on reproductive health, HIV/AIDS, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and effective methods of contraception. The training targeted young students from North Bangkok University, Rangsit Campus, Bangkok, and was supported by funding from the AIDS Healthcare Foundation Thailand (AHF Thailand). The educational session focused on topics related to reproductive health, prevention of unintended pregnancy, sexually transmitted infections, and sexual and reproductive health rights. These subjects were delivered through participatory learning activities such as demonstrations on the correct use of condoms and methods to prevent sexually transmitted infections. Additionally, VCT/STIs screening services were provided to the students. The participants gained not only knowledge but also enjoyment and a sense of safety, which will help them build resilience and protect themselves effectively….
During August 26–27, Dr. Nanthakan Sungsuman Woodham, Director of the Association, welcomed and participated in a technical workshop on monitoring and evaluation of sexual and reproductive health programs with Dr. Rajrattan Lokhande, Senior Monitoring & Evaluation Advisor, Humanitarian Programme, and Mr. Kumar Das, Senior Advisor – Performance, Learning and Impact, from the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF). Participants in the meeting included Ms. Saneekan Rosamontri, Project Research and Development Manager; Ms. Padivarada Dermsunteah, Monitoring and Evaluation Manager; Ms. Orawan Kerdjan, Planning and Evaluation Officer; Ms. Laksika Ngoset, Research and Development Officer; and Ms. Chanisiree Pumthong, Academic Officer.
