PPAT Joining Youth Festival in Chiang Mai

On 17 February, Dr. Nanthakan Sungsuman Woodham, Executive Director of PPAT, along with staff from the Northern Regional Office, participated in the Youth Festival at Tha Pae Gate, Chiang Mai. The event, organized by the Raks Thai Foundation, welcomed participation from youth, including vulnerable populations, ethnic minorities, and LGBTQIA+ groups. The festival aimed to create a creative and inclusive space for young people to express themselves and to raise awareness on STI prevention and unplanned pregnancy among adolescents. It also promoted access to friendly information and services. PPAT joined as a key partner in the youth empowerment project alongside the Health Promotion Center Region 1, Department of Health, youth networks, and other local partner organizations in Chiang Mai….

PPAT Khon Kaen Clinic Promoting Condom Use

On 14 February, the PPAT Khon Kaen Clinic, in collaboration with Khon Kaen Hospital, the Khon Kaen Provincial Public Health Office, and the Office of Public Health and Environment of Khon Kaen Municipality, organized a Valentine’s Day campaign under the theme “Seal it with Love (and a Condom).” The event aimed to educate students on proper condom use and to raise awareness on unplanned pregnancy prevention. Pak Nam’s youth Learning About Condom Use to Prevent Unplanned Pregnancy

On 13 February, a team of facilitators from PPAT, led by Project Manager Mr. Worachote Lamudthong, conducted a hands-on reproductive health education workshop under a project focused on HIV/STIs prevention and teenage pregnancy prevention. The workshop provided reproductive health knowledge, pregnancy prevention methods, STIs prevention, as well as sexual and reproductive rights to both youth and older adults in Samut Prakan province. The interactive activities included demonstrations on correct condom use and methods to prevent HIV/STIs, offering both knowledge and enjoyment to participants and equipping them with essential self-protection skills. Collaboration on HIV Prevention Efforts

On 29 January, Dr. Nanthakan Sungsuman Woodham, Executive Director, together with Ms. Ladda Jitwatanapataya, Advisor to the Executive Director, and Miss Saneekan Rosamontri, Research and Project Development Manager, held a meeting with Mr. Kittinan Thammatat of the Rainbow Sky Association of Thailand and its executive team. The discussion focused on collaboration to promote HIV prevention through biomedical methods. Providing reproductive health knowledge to students, building immunity to enhance quality of life

In the past morning (25 January), Khun Worachote Lamudthong, Project Manager, led the PPAT speaker team to organize a workshop to build capacity in reproductive health knowledge for students of the Food Passion Learning Center, Vocational Certificate Year 1 level, under the project for prevention of teenage pregnancy and basic first aid training, at the meeting room of the Food Passion Learning Center, Bangkok. This knowledge-sharing activity focused on topics of reproductive health, unplanned pregnancy, HIV/sexually transmitted infections, as well as sexual and reproductive rights, through participatory learning activities such as correct condom use demonstration, and HIV/STIs prevention methods. Participants received both knowledge and enjoyment, which will help build immunity for themselves….

PPAT exchanging with IPPF Social Enterprise Hub to develop social enterprise

During 15–18 January, Dr. Nanthakan Sungsuman Woodham, Executive Director of PPAT , along with PPAT Senior staff, had a discussion and exchange with Mr. Rishikeshan Thiyagaraja, Assistant Director, and Mr. Manjula Chathuranga Liyanage, Technical Advisor, representatives from IPPF Social Enterprise Hub, to jointly discuss development approaches for operating Baan Hormlamduan Elderly Care Center to succeed, and also transferred knowledge about social enterprise operations, focusing on marketing work, which will benefit PPAT operations in the future….

Secretary-General of PPAT giving suggestions on developing PPAT KPI assessment tools

In the past morning (9 January), Asst. Prof. Dr. Sukanya Sripho, Secretary-General of the Association, honored to preside over the opening of the meeting to develop tools for measuring staff performance of the Association (Key Performance Indicator: KPI), to strengthen, make accurate, and make more sustainable the resource work of PPAT. Participating in this meeting were Ms. Penpan Chittasenee, Treasurer of the Association, Miss Sirichandra Balakanich, Committee Member of the Association, Dr. Nanthakan Sungsuman Woodham, Director of the Association, and related executives, all participating in the discussion….

Meeting summarizing operations on youth work development in the northern region

On the past 26 December, Dr. Nanthakan Sungsuman Woodham, Executive Director of PPAT, and project working team participated in a meeting to review and exchange learning with partner networks on the implementation of the “Empowering our Youth Project” to enable youth access to reproductive health and family planning equally and thoroughly, which is operated in Chiang Mai province.To jointly summarize project operations, the outcome of this project shows commitment to promoting the potential of all youth groups comprehensively, including sexual and reproductive health rights and family planning, focusing mainly on youth participation. The meeting was honored by Khun Duangkamol Ponchamni, representative of UNFPA (United Nations Population Fund), giving an opening speech and also joining New Year celebration activities with a warm heartfelt atmosphere….

Secretary-General of PPAT opening training on capacity development of PPAT Medical Clinic staff (QOC)

In the past morning (23 November), Asst. Prof. Dr. Sukanya Sripho, Secretary-General of the Association, honored to preside over the opening of the training on the topic of Quality of Care (QOC) standards, to develop the quality of services of PPAT Medical Clinics and support staff from all departments to develop knowledge related to work, along with reviewing and updating knowledge related to reproductive health work to be more efficient. At Somdej Uppatham Building, Planned Parenthood Association of Thailand (PPAT), with staff from all 9 PPAT Medical Clinics and related persons participating in this training altogether. All 9 PPAT Medical Clinics, including telemedicine doctors, will be closed from 23–27 November and will open as usual on 28 November. We apologize for any inconvenience caused on this occasion….

Congratulations to PPAT Deputy Director for Receiving Honorary Award

On 29 October, PPAT congratulated Ms. Warunee Tungsiri, Deputy Director of the Northeastern Regional Office and Manager of PPAT Khon Kaen Medical Clinic, on the occasion of receiving an honorary plaque from Mr. Teerasak Teekayuphan, Mayor of Khon Kaen Municipality, in recognition of her valuable contributions to the municipality. The award was presented on the occasion of the 88th Anniversary of Khon Kaen Municipality, at the 200-Year Public Park Stage, Bueng Kaen Nakhon, Khon Kaen Province….
