Association Secretary-General Joins Brainstorming Session on Eliminating Violence Against Women

On July 18th, Mr. Anukul Peedkaew, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security (MSDHS), presided over the opening of the national workshop to exchange opinions on the ASEAN Regional Plan of Action on the Elimination of Violence Against Women (RPA on EVAW), and delivered a special keynote address. Representing the Planned Parenthood Association of Thailand (PPAT) were Asst. Prof. Dr. Somjaree Preeyanont, Secretary-General of the Association, and Dr. Nanthakan Sungsuman Woodham, Executive Director of the Association, who both participated in the brainstorming session. Learning Self-Defense for Confidence in Operations

On the third day (July 18th) of the Quality of Care (QOC) Annual Workshop 2025, the activity focused on learning basic self-defense techniques. The training was conducted by speakers from the Ju-Jitsu Sport Association of Thailand to enhance the health care and self-care skills of the PPAT staff, ensuring they are prepared to perform their duties with confidence. The capacity-building training for PPAT Medical Clinic staff and PPAT project staff was held from July 16th to 18th, 2025, at the Novotel Rayong Star Convention Center, Mueang District, Rayong Province….

PPAT Staff Trained in Family Planning Counseling Techniques

On the second day (July 17th) of the Quality of Care (QOC) Annual Workshop 2025, the focus was on learning techniques for counseling on safe abortion options and family planning.Ms. Warunee Tungsiri, Manager of the PPAT Khon Kaen Medical Clinic, covered the session.Ms. Uthaiwan Kengthindong, Manager of the PPAT Pinklao Medical Clinic, and her team reviewed the SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) for Family Planning. Khun Kornrawee Sanduang and her team covered Risk and Incident Management. PPAT Organizes Capacity Building Training for PPAT Medical Clinic Staff

This morning (July 16th), Dr. Nanthakan Sungsuman Woodham, Executive Director of PPAT, presided over the opening of the Quality of Care (QOC) Annual Workshop for 2025.The workshop aims to improve the service quality of PPAT Medical Clinics and encourage staff from all departments to enhance their job-related knowledge. It also focuses on reviewing and updating knowledge on reproductive health issues for greater efficiency, especially regarding PrEP (Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis) and PEP (Post-Exposure Prophylxis) services. The training featured presentations by Khun Kunawut Jiewpanya, Manager of the Rainbow Sky Association of Nakhon Sawan, and Khun Kulphassorn Kladngam from Raks Thai Foundation, and their teams. The participants also had a site visit to study the operations of the Medical Technologist Clinic at Sisters Foundation, Rayong Center. The capacity-building training for PPAT Medical Clinic staff and PPAT project staff is scheduled to take place from July 16th to 18th, 2025, at the Novotel Rayong Star Convention Center, Mueang District, Rayong Province….

PPAT Deploys Mobile Health Unit in Pathum Thani Province

Last night (July 15th), the project working team of the Planned Parenthood Association of Thailand (PPAT) deployed a mobile unit to provide free mobile health check-ups, including voluntary screening for HIV infection and other sexually transmitted infections (STIs), to service workers in entertainment establishments in Mueang District, Pathum Thani Province. This activity was conducted under the project “Promoting HIV Infection Prevention among Female Service Workers and Men who have Sex with Men,” which receives funding support from the National Health Security Office (NHSO) Region 4 Saraburi….

PPAT Board Members Recorded a Congratulatory Tribute for King Rama X

On July 1st, Assoc. Prof. Naval Lt. Manopchai Thamkhantho, President of PPAT, along with Mr. Anukul Peedkaew, Vice President of the Association, Asst. Prof. Dr. Somjaree Preeyanont, Secretary-General of the Association, Mrs. Rungrasami Sriwongphan, Mr. Chavang Thaiying, and Miss Nada Binroheem, led the 18th Board of Directors, executives, and staff to record a televised congratulatory tribute (Thawai Phra Phon Chai Mongkhon). This was done on the occasion of the Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua (Rama X) on July 28th, to express their loyalty and gratitude for his royal benevolence. The recording took place at the television studio of the National Broadcasting Services of Thailand (NBT)….

IPPF Delegation Visits PPAT Medical Clinic and Baan Hormlamduan

This morning (June 27th), Dr. Nanthakan Sungsuman Woodham, Executive Director of PPAT, along with Khun Serene Ramnee, PPAT Project Manager, and their team, welcomed a delegation from the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF). The visit was an opportunity for the delegation to observe the operations of the PPAT Bangkhen Medical Clinic and the Baan Hormlamduan Elderly Care Facility. The entire delegation, comprising members from 43 countries worldwide, had been attending the IPPF AOC Meeting (a confidential internal IPPF meeting) held at the Novotel Sukhumvit 20 Hotel in Bangkok from June 21st to 27th, 2025….

Activity to Provide Reproductive Health Education to Youth in Chiang Rai Area

Between June 25th and 27th, the PPAT Chiang Rai Medical Clinic organized a youth leader training activity to develop the capacity and transfer knowledge on reproductive health. This was conducted under the project: “Capacity Building and Enhancement of Ethnic Youth Leaders in Sexual and Reproductive Health in Chiang Rai Province,” which received funding support from the Planned Parenthood Foundation of Thailand (PPFT). The event was honored by Mr. Sakda Thanin, Acting Public Health Technical Officer specializing in Promotion and Development and Deputy Provincial Public Health Doctor of Chiang Rai, who presided over the opening ceremony at M Boutique Resort in Chiang Rai Province….

Marching to Uphold Equity: “Equality” at We All Pride Thailand 2025

Yesterday afternoon (June 21st), Dr. Nanthakan Sungsuman Woodham, Executive Director, led the executive team and staff of PPAT (Planned Parenthood Association of Thailand) to join the We All Pride Thailand 2025 @Bangkapi parade. PPAT participated to celebrate sexual and gender diversity and to campaign on critical issues to create change at every level, fostering greater understanding and equality in Thai society. Key themes included promoting human rights, building understanding of gender and sexuality, encouraging self-pride, and establishing safe and friendly spaces for everyone. The PPAT procession was themed “WE All Equality,” emphasizing a commitment to equity. The march started from the National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA) and proceeded to The Mall Lifestore Bangkapi. The parade featured spectacular performances, elaborate floats, and costumes reflecting cultural diversity. The PPAT procession received significant attention from the public. Baan Hormlamduan Receives Silver Award for Top Elderly Care Facility 2025

Yesterday afternoon (June 18th), Asst. Prof. Dr. Somjaree Preeyanont, Secretary-General of the Association, along with Mr. Panatphong Noradee, Manager of Knowledge Dissemination and Public Relations, represented the Association at the award ceremony for the UNIVERSAL DESIGN STANDARDS 2025. Baan Hormlamduan Elderly Care Facility received the Silver Award for Top Elderly Care Facility at the academic conference and knowledge exchange event: “3rd Voice of the Voiceless: The Vulnerable Populations – Uniting Health Partners to Move Forward with Equality.” The event was organized by the Thai Health Promotion Foundation (ThaiHealth) and the Center for Universal Design, Faculty of Architecture, Chulalongkorn University, and was held at Sapphire 205, 2nd Floor, IMPACT Forum, Muang Thong Thani….

PPAT President Recorded Clip on Reproductive Health Education

On June 11th, Assoc. Prof. naval Lt. Manopchai Thamkhantho, President of the Planned Parenthood Association of Thailand (PPAT), participated in recording a video clip to provide knowledge on reproductive health. The topics covered were vaginal discharge (leukorrhea) and cystitis (bladder inflammation), which are commonly found in women of reproductive age and older women. This activity was conducted under the Project to Produce Educational Clips on Reproductive Health for Women of Reproductive and Working Age, with support from Exeltis (Thailand) Co., Ltd. The educational clips will be disseminated through the Planned Parenthood Association of Thailand’s Facebook Page and the “Never Surrender” Facebook Page….
