This morning (July 16th), Dr. Nanthakan Sungsuman Woodham, Executive Director of PPAT, presided over the opening of the Quality of Care (QOC) Annual Workshop for 2025.The workshop aims to improve the service quality of PPAT Medical Clinics and encourage staff from all departments to enhance their job-related knowledge. It also focuses on reviewing and updating knowledge on reproductive health issues for greater efficiency, especially regarding PrEP (Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis) and PEP (Post-Exposure Prophylxis) services. The training featured presentations by Khun Kunawut Jiewpanya, Manager of the Rainbow Sky Association of Nakhon Sawan, and Khun Kulphassorn Kladngam from Raks Thai Foundation, and their teams. The participants also had a site visit to study the operations of the Medical Technologist Clinic at Sisters Foundation, Rayong Center. Last night (July 15th), the project working team of the Planned Parenthood Association of Thailand (PPAT) deployed a mobile unit to provide free mobile health check-ups, including voluntary screening for HIV infection and other sexually transmitted infections (STIs), to service workers in entertainment establishments in Mueang District, Pathum Thani Province. The visit was an opportunity for the delegation to observe the operations of the PPAT Bangkhen Medical Clinic and the Baan Hormlamduan Elderly Care Facility. The entire delegation, comprising members from 43 countries worldwide, had been attending the IPPF AOC Meeting (a confidential internal IPPF meeting) held at the Novotel Sukhumvit 20 Hotel in Bangkok from June 21st to 27th, 2025….
Between June 25th and 27th, the PPAT Chiang Rai Medical Clinic organized a youth leader training activity to develop the capacity and transfer knowledge on reproductive health. Yesterday afternoon (June 21st), Dr. Nanthakan Sungsuman Woodham, Executive Director, led the executive team and staff of PPAT (Planned Parenthood Association of Thailand) to join the We All Pride Thailand 2025 @Bangkapi parade. PPAT participated to celebrate sexual and gender diversity and to campaign on critical issues to create change at every level, fostering greater understanding and equality in Thai society. Key themes included promoting human rights, building understanding of gender and sexuality, encouraging self-pride, and establishing safe and friendly spaces for everyone. The PPAT procession was themed “WE All Equality,” emphasizing a commitment to equity. The march started from the National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA) and proceeded to The Mall Lifestore Bangkapi. The parade featured spectacular performances, elaborate floats, and costumes reflecting cultural diversity. The PPAT procession received significant attention from the public. On June 11th, Assoc. Prof. naval Lt. Manopchai Thamkhantho, President of the Planned Parenthood Association of Thailand (PPAT), participated in recording a video clip to provide knowledge on reproductive health. The topics covered were vaginal discharge (leukorrhea) and cystitis (bladder inflammation), which are commonly found in women of reproductive age and older women. This activity was conducted under the Project to Produce Educational Clips on Reproductive Health for Women of Reproductive and Working Age, with support from Exeltis (Thailand) Co., Ltd.
